    In August 2007, Wal-Mart announced an agreement with Bharti Enterprises to establish a joint venture, Bharti Wal-Mart Private Limited, for wholesale cash-and-carry and back-end supply chain management operations in India.

    $90.6 billion – 17.5 percent increase over the previous year. Operating income was $4.76 billion, an increase of 11.8 percent compared to the previous fiscal year.

    For the five-week period ending October 3, 2008, $9.4 billion – an increase of 7.3 percent over the same period last year.

    For the second quarter FY 2009 ending 7/31/08: $25.3 billion – an increase of 16.9 percent over the same period last year. Operating income was $1.2 billion for the quarter, an increase of 16.5 percent over the same period last year.
